A 40-year-old woman and an 8-year-old boy were killed, and an 11-year-old boy was seriously injured after an SUV veered off Wildcat Road near Rancheria Creek Road, west of Manton in Shasta County on Monday morning, September 15, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the eastbound SUV went off the road and down an embankment shortly after 5:00 a.m., ejecting all three passengers.
None of the passengers was wearing seat belts. The woman and the 8-year-old boy were pronounced deceased at the scene, while the 11-year-old sustained a head injury and was transported to a hospital.
Authorities, including CHP and the Shasta County Coroner’s Office, continue to investigate the crash.
