INJURED IN AN ACCIDENT?

[09-13-2025] San Diego County, CA – Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run on 4400 Block of Carlsbad Boulevard in Carlsbad

A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run collision on the 4400 block of Carlsbad Boulevard in Carlsbad on Saturday morning, September 13, 2025.

According to the Carlsbad Police Department, officers responded shortly after 4:30 a.m. and found the bicyclist deceased in the street. With the assistance of community members, license plate readers, and a drone, police located the driver approximately one mile from the scene.

Alexander G., 27, of Escondido was arrested on suspicion of murder, gross vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of a collision resulting in injury or death, DUI causing injury or death, and DUI with a blood alcohol content of .08. Gendron was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on a no-bail hold and is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at the Vista Courthouse.

The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the bicyclist at a later date. Police continue to investigate the collision and are seeking additional witnesses.
