A 3-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Artesia Boulevard and Rose Avenue in Long Beach on Saturday evening, September 6, 2025.
According to the Long Beach Police Department, the crash occurred just before 6:30 p.m. A man driving westbound on Artesia Boulevard struck the child, who had run into the street. The boy was transported to a hospital, where he later died.
Authorities reported that the driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police said speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not appear to have contributed to the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
