[08-26-2025] Two Injured After Jet Bridge Collapse at Santa Barbara AirportTwo airport employees were injured when a jet bridge collapsed at Santa Barbara Airport on Tuesday morning, August 26, 2025.

According to airport officials, the collapse occurred around 9:25 a.m. at Gate Two while maintenance crews were working on the bridge. No passengers were on the bridge at the time.

Authorities said both employees sustained minor injuries and were transported to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital. Responding units included the Santa Barbara City Fire Department and Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Airport spokesperson Lauren Gonzales confirmed that flights were operating normally, though the collapsed bridge will remain out of service pending an engineering inspection. Officials stated that other jet bridges at the airport were visually inspected and no safety concerns were found.

Airport Director Chris Hastert said this appears to be an isolated incident and emphasized that passenger and employee safety is the airport’s top priority.

Investigators continue to determine the cause of the collapse.
