[12-31-2025] Riverside County, CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash Near Van Buren Street in Indio

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash near the area of Van Buren Street south of Dr. Carreon Boulevard in Indio on Wednesday night, December 31, 2025.

According to the Indio Police Department, the collision was reported just before 9:00 p.m. Responding officers found a man in the roadway with significant injuries. Paramedics attempted lifesaving measures, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the suspect vehicle was later located at an apartment complex in the 47000 block of Van Buren Street, though it was unoccupied.

The Indio Police Department’s Traffic Division has taken over the investigation, and no identifying information about the suspect has been released.
