A man in his 50s sustained major injuries after being ejected from a vehicle that overturned on an Interstate 80 on-ramp in North Highlands, Sacramento County, on Sunday evening, December 29, 2024.
According to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, the driver lost control of the vehicle while entering Interstate 80 from Madison Avenue. The vehicle veered off the embankment and overturned.
Authorities reported that two occupants fled the scene, leaving behind the rear passenger, who was ejected during the crash. Emergency responders transported the injured man to a nearby hospital for treatment. His current condition remains unknown.
California Highway Patrol officers are investigating the cause of the crash and the circumstances surrounding the two fleeing occupants.
