A 93-year-old woman died following a two-vehicle crash at South El Cielo Road and Kirk Douglas Way in Palm Springs on Sunday afternoon, December 28, 2025.
According to the Palm Springs Police Department, the collision was reported around 3:24 p.m. when a gray Honda SUV traveling southbound attempted to make an eastbound left turn and entered the path of a northbound white Mazda SUV.
The woman driving the Honda was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries and later died. Police said the driver of the Mazda SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities stated that drugs or alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash. The identity of the woman was withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
