![[12-25-2025] Two Juveniles Killed in Crash on Northbound 5 Freeway in Castaic](https://ak1.to//78Tg.webp)
Two juveniles were killed, and three others were injured following a traffic collision on the northbound 5 Freeway at the Vista Del Lago exit near Pyramid Lake in Castaic, Los Angeles County, on Thursday afternoon, December 25, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 2:56 p.m. and involved a blue Nissan Rogue occupied by two adults and six minors.
CHP said the vehicle lost control and crashed into the rear of another vehicle, causing three of the minors to be ejected. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but two of the juveniles died from their injuries at the scene.
Authorities said three additional juveniles were transported to a hospital with minor injuries. CHP reported that three other people were not injured but were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
The driver of the Nissan Rogue, identified as 28-year-old Jorge P., was arrested and booked on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence. CHP said Jorge’s relationship to the juveniles was not immediately known. Some lanes were closed during the investigation, and the scene was cleared by approximately 5:00 p.m.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
