At least one person was killed following a rollover crash on the eastbound Moreno Valley (60) Freeway west of Day Street in Riverside on Saturday evening, December 13, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 6:22 p.m. when a dark-colored vehicle was found overturned in the HOV and No. 1 lanes.
CHP said a witness reported seeing the vehicle sparking and swerving prior to the crash. Authorities also indicated the driver may have struck large debris in the roadway, which damaged the vehicle before it overturned.
Officials did not immediately confirm how many people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. Riverside Animal Control responded to the scene to take custody of a dog, and the Riverside County Coroner was requested at approximately 8:10 p.m. CHP implemented a hard closure of the eastbound lanes to allow for the investigation and cleanup.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
