[12-12-2024] San Diego County, CA – Male Pedestrian Killed After Being Hit by Vehicle on Nimitz Boulevard in Point Loma

A man died after being struck by a vehicle near Nimitz Boulevard and Chatsworth Boulevard in Point Loma, San Diego, on early Thursday morning, December 12, 2024.

San Diego officials reported that the crash occurred at approximately 6:18 a.m. The pedestrian was crossing the street near the intersection when he was hit by a red Kia.

The victim sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious at the scene. Emergency responders transported him to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Kia remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The incident remains under investigation.
