Five people were injured, including two with major injuries, after a head-on collision in Calaveras County on Thursday evening, December 12, 2024.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:20 p.m., near the intersection of Highway 26 and Silver Rapids Road, according to the Calaveras Consolidated Fire Department.
Emergency responders reported that one individual had to be extricated from a vehicle. Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene to transport the injured victims to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
