[12-09-2024] Orange County, CA – Woman Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles on W. Orangethorpe Avenue in Fullerton

[12-09-2024] Woman Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles on W. Orangethorpe Avenue in FullertonA female pedestrian was killed after being struck by two vehicles on W. Orangethorpe Avenue at Jefferson Avenue in Fullerton on Monday night, December 9, 2024.

According to the Fullerton Police Department, officers responded to the area at approximately 8:01 p.m. and found the victim and a bicycle in the eastbound lanes of W. Orangethorpe Avenue. Fullerton Fire Department personnel pronounced the woman deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the woman was walking her bicycle in the number one eastbound lane when she was struck by a black 2003 Lexus RX 300 driven by a 32-year-old Westminster resident. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

Authorities also determined that the pedestrian was hit by a second vehicle, a light-colored pickup truck, after the initial collision. The pickup truck fled the scene, and investigators are working to identify its driver.

It is currently unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. The identity of the pedestrian will be released by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing.
