A 40-year-old Watsonville man suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run crash on Green Valley Road east of Pioneer Road in Santa Cruz County on Sunday night, December 7, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers learned of the incident after responding to Watsonville Hospital, where they located the injured man.
CHP said the pedestrian had been walking eastbound on Green Valley Road between 9:00 p.m. and 9:20 p.m. when an unknown vehicle, possibly a sedan, was also traveling eastbound and struck him before fleeing the scene.
The man was transported to the hospital with major injuries. CHP said it was unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
