A 78-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Porterville on Thursday evening, December 4, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded around 6 p.m. to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at Highway 190 and Westwood Street.
Investigators said the man had been walking eastbound across Westwood Street, north of Highway 190, when he entered the path of a 2008 Toyota driven by a 38-year-old woman. The driver was unable to avoid the collision, and the pedestrian died from his injuries.
The driver and passenger in the Toyota were not injured. The man’s name has not been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
