[12-02-2025] 94-Year-Old Driver Seriously Injured After Semi-Truck Crash at Highway 99 and Highway 20 in Yuba CityA 94-year-old man suffered major injuries after a collision involving a semi-truck at the intersection of Highway 99 and Highway 20 in Yuba City on Tuesday morning, December 2, 2025.

According to the Yuba City Police Department, the crash occurred around 10:20 a.m. when a semi-truck driven by a 35-year-old man was traveling north on Highway 99. Police said the Buick Verano driver turned left onto eastbound Highway 20 against a red light, and the semi-truck driver was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. 

The 94-year-old was transported to Adventist Rideout Hospital with major injuries, while the semi-truck driver was not hurt.

Authorities said preliminary findings indicated that speed and alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors. The Yuba City Traffic Unit is reviewing surveillance footage and gathering witness statements as part of the investigation.
