Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident that left an elderly woman dead in Brawley on Monday evening, December 2, 2024.
Officers responded to reports of a pedestrian accident at approximately 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of Western Avenue and J Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an older woman with severe injuries. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver involved in the collision fled the scene. Authorities described the suspect vehicle as a dark-colored Dodge Charger driven by a white male adult. The vehicle is expected to have damage to its windshield and a missing driver’s side mirror.
