A 19-year-old man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence after causing a fatal multi-vehicle crash in Clovis early Sunday morning, December 1, 2024.
According to Clovis Police, officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Gettysburg and Fowler Avenues shortly after 2:00 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered that five vehicles had been involved in the crash.
Investigators said 19-year-old Fnu H. was speeding westbound on Gettysburg when he ran a red light and collided with a silver Hyundai in the intersection. The crash caused the two cars to spin and hit three parked vehicles in nearby driveways.
The DUI driver, two passengers in his vehicle, and two people in the Hyundai were all transported to local hospitals. A woman in the Hyundai, who has not been identified, later died from her injuries.
The suspect is being treated for his injuries and will face multiple felony charges, including DUI. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
