[11-28-2025] Sonoma County, CA – Man Killed After Hit-and-Run Crash on Snyder Lane Near Capri Way in Rohnert Park

[11-28-2025] Man Killed After Hit-and-Run Crash on Snyder Lane Near Capri Way in Rohnert ParkAn older man was killed after being struck by a pickup truck in a hit-and-run crash on Snyder Lane near Capri Way, just south of Rancho Cotate High School in Rohnert Park, on Friday evening, November 28, 2025.

According to the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety, officers responded around 6:35 p.m. to a 911 report that a pedestrian had been hit while crossing west on Snyder Lane.

First responders found the man and attempted life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sonoma County Coroner Bureau will release his identity after notifying his family. Authorities said the suspect’s pickup, initially described as a Chevrolet Silverado, fled before officers arrived and was seen driving west on Southwest Boulevard and Snyder Lane.

Rohnert Park police later tracked a 17-year-old boy and the involved truck, which had significant front-end damage and left parts at the crash site, to Petaluma. Sgt. Justin Wax said the teen, a Sonoma County resident, was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and failure to stop at the scene of a crash resulting in death. The teenager was not identified due to being underage. Investigators canvassed nearby neighborhoods and reviewed surveillance footage as part of the ongoing case.

The investigation is ongoing.

Don’t Know What To Do After An Accident?

Your safety and rights depend on what you do next after an accident. Remember the following steps if you find yourself in one:

  • Check yourself for any injuries.
  • Stay on the scene, call 9-1-1, and wait for emergency responders.
  • Move your vehicle to the road shoulder if safe; turn on hazard lights.
  • Fully cooperate with law enforcement and stay until cleared to leave.
  • Document the scene and injuries with photos and videos.
  • Seek immediate medical attention.
  • Contact your insurance company and find a personal injury lawyer for legal advice.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You

Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
