[11-27-2024] 53-Year-Old Man Injured After Hit-And-Run Crash on 1st AvenueA 53-year-old man sustained moderate injuries after a hit-and-run crash in Chester, Plumas County, on Wednesday evening, November 27, 2024.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. near 1st Avenue and Fourth Street.

Adrian R., 25, was driving a 2015 Infiniti sedan northbound on 1st Avenue when he encountered a pedestrian making arm gestures. A verbal altercation ensued, prompting a passenger from the Infiniti to chase the pedestrian east on Fourth Street.

Hearing the commotion, Pat G., a nearby resident, walked into the middle of Fourth Street.

As the pedestrian fled from the passenger, the driver pursued them in his vehicle. While turning from northbound 1st Avenue onto eastbound Fourth Street, Adrian R. struck Pat G. and fled the scene with the unidentified passenger.

A concerned citizen transported Pat G. to a nearby hospital for treatment.

CHP officers later located the driver and the Infiniti at a residence in Chester. Alcohol impairment was determined to be a factor in the crash.

The CHP Susanville office is investigating the collision.
