[11-21-2024] Two People Injured After Two-Vehicle DUI Crash on Highway 41Two people sustained injuries after a two-vehicle DUI crash on Highway 41 in Fresno County on Thursday afternoon, November 21, 2024.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy observed the suspect driving against traffic on the highway near South Avenue. The deputy called for backup and began following the driver in an attempt to stop him.

Despite efforts to get the driver to stop, the suspect continued driving into oncoming traffic. He collided with another vehicle but kept going, even with a flat tire and significant damage to his car.

The driver, who has three prior DUI convictions and possibly two more pending, was found to be nearly four times over the legal alcohol limit. He was arrested at the scene. 

Two people were injured in the crash, but their conditions were not immediately disclosed. 

The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
