A 55-year-old pedestrian was fatally struck by an SUV on State Route 94 in Jamul in eastern San Diego County early Thursday morning, November 20, 2025.
The crash occurred around 4:15 a.m. on a dimly lit stretch of SR-94 near Hillside Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man, an El Cajon resident, had been crossing the roadway when an eastbound 2017 Hyundai Tucson struck him.
CHP public affairs Officer Jasmine Lopez said the pedestrian died at the scene. His name is being withheld pending family notification. Intoxication was not considered a factor in the fatality.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
