One person was killed, and four others sustained injuries after a boat capsized in rough seas near Bodega Bay, Sonoma County, on Monday afternoon, November 18, 2024.
According to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, a distress call was received at around 1:45 p.m. about a vessel near Salmon Creek with some passengers overboard.
The U.S. Coast Guard and Sonoma Fire Department responded to the scene and rescued four survivors. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The cause of the capsizing is under investigation. Further details about the victims have not been released.
