A cyclist in his 60s died in a crash on Telegraph Avenue near UC Berkeley on Saturday afternoon, November 15, 2025.
The collision happened shortly before 3 p.m. on Telegraph Avenue at Haste Street. According to Berkeley police, the cyclist had been heading south against traffic when he attempted to squeeze between the curb and a northbound pickup truck. He wobbled and fell from his bike, and the driver struck him.
Witnesses reported that the cyclist was neither conscious nor breathing at the scene, according to radio dispatches reviewed by The Scanner. The driver remained at the scene. Berkeley medics performed CPR on the man as he was transported to Highland Hospital. He had sustained a skull fracture, and it was unknown whether he was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
