A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on eastbound Interstate 80 in Fairfield on Thursday morning, November 14, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian ran into traffic and was struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the involved vehicle stopped and is cooperating with law enforcement. CHP reported that driving under the influence is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
