A 23-year-old man from Fortuna, identified as Max W., sustained major injuries after being struck by a vehicle near Fortuna, Humboldt County, on early Wednesday morning, November 6, 2024.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene around 3:17 a.m. on southbound US-101 at the Greenlaw Vista Point just north of Jordan Creek.
Authorities stated that the pedestrian was found lying in the southbound lanes, suffering from injuries consistent with a vehicle collision. He was transported by emergency medical personnel to Providence St. Joseph Hospital for treatment.
The CHP is continuing to investigate the incident and is asking the public for assistance in identifying the vehicle involved.
