A 71-year-old motorcyclist from Thousand Oaks was killed in a crash with a Toyota Yaris on State Route 23 in Bardsdale, Ventura County, on Sunday evening, November 2, 2025.
The crash was reported around 5:50 p.m. at State Route 23, also known as Grimes Canyon Road, and Bardsdale Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. The area is largely farmland south of the city of Fillmore.
According to CHP, the motorcyclist was riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide southbound on State Route 23 and was unable to negotiate a left turn in the road. The motorcycle struck a 2012 Toyota Yaris that was stopped at a stop sign on Bardsdale Avenue.
The rider suffered major injuries and was airlifted by a Ventura County helicopter to Los Robles Regional Medical Center, where he later died, CHP officials said. The driver of the Toyota, a 48-year-old Canyon Country woman, complained of pain but was able to drive from the scene.
No arrests were made, and it was not known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol’s Moorpark office.

What A Lawyer Can Do For You
Many victims put off calling a lawyer even if they sustain injuries after an accident. However, lawyers can help you in many ways. They can provide you with police reports, CCTV footage, and witness statements to strengthen your case. Your attorney will also negotiate with insurance companies to get you fair compensation. The best part is that they will do all of these things for you at no upfront cost. So if you’re injured in an accident, hire a personal injury attorney to recover medical bills, car repair costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
