A pedestrian was struck and killed in a crash on Stine Road near Summer Tree Lane in Bakersfield on Thursday afternoon, October 30, 2025.
The crash occurred around 4:20 p.m., and officers responded to reports of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers found the pedestrian suffering from moderate to major injuries. They were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, who sustained significant facial injuries, was treated at a local hospital. Preliminary investigations suggest that the pedestrian may have entered the crosswalk without ensuring the road was clear of oncoming traffic. Speed and intoxication do not appear to be factors in the crash at this time.
