A 60-year-old woman was taken into custody for driving under the influence after crashing her Tesla while being pursued by police in Reseda, Los Angeles, on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers attempted to stop the woman just before 12:30 a.m. on Sherman Way, near Haskell Avenue. When she failed to yield, a brief pursuit ensued, lasting about 30 seconds.
The chase ended when the woman collided with a Toyota pickup truck at the intersection of Sherman Way and Lindley Avenue.
The woman, who appeared visibly intoxicated, struggled to stand as officers placed her in handcuffs and escorted her to a squad car.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage. The driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The Tesla driver was arrested for driving under the influence, and the investigation remains ongoing.
