A 24-year-old driver suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision involving a Tesla and a Honda Civic in the El Cerrito community of San Diego on Friday night, October 17, 2025.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. at Dayton Street and El Cajon Boulevard.
Police said an eastbound Tesla Model Y on El Cajon Boulevard, approaching the intersection with a green light, made a left turn in front of a westbound Honda Civic, violating its right of way.
The two vehicles collided in the intersection, and the driver of the Honda was transported by ambulance to a hospital with a fractured left femur and a lacerated liver. Impaired driving was not suspected.
The investigation is ongoing.
