A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on the northbound lanes of Highway 99 near Mack Road in Sacramento on Friday morning, October 17, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle involved in the crash remained at the scene, and the driver provided a statement to authorities.
CHP confirmed that alcohol and drugs were not believed to be factors in the collision. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
