A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on westbound Highway 50 east of 16th Street in Sacramento’s Newton Booth neighborhood early Wednesday morning, October 16, 2024.
California Highway Patrol logs indicate that the incident occurred around 5:23 a.m. with emergency medical services dispatched to the scene.
It remains unclear what led to the collision, but CHP reports that lanes were temporarily blocked. The roadway was fully reopened by 7:27 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the cause of the crash.
