[10-12-2024] Dirt Bike Rider Critically Injured After Crash with Jeep in Apple ValleyA dirt bike rider was critically injured following a collision with a Jeep in Apple Valley, San Bernardino County, on Saturday, October 12, 2024. 

The accident occurred around 12:20 p.m. near Outer Highway 18 and Olalee Road, close to Tom’s Famous Family Restaurant.

Authorities reported that a green and white Kawasaki dirt bike collided with the front passenger side of a white Jeep Gladiator. The impact split the bike into two pieces, leaving the rider critically injured.

Firefighters from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District requested air medical transport. A Reach helicopter stationed at St. Mary’s helipad airlifted the injured rider to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Outer Highway 18 was closed in both directions for approximately one hour while deputies investigated and cleared the scene.

The Jeep driver was uninjured and cooperated with the investigation. The Apple Valley Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
