A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by an SUV whose driver fled the scene in Mecca, Riverside County, on Friday evening, October 10, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported around 6:30 p.m. Grapefruit Boulevard near the 66th Avenue Bypass.
A witness told CHP that the victim was found lying on the right-hand shoulder. It was unclear whether the pedestrian was taken to a hospital before he died.
Personnel from the Riverside County Coroner’s Office were summoned to the scene, and an ambulance company reported that he was transported to a hospital.
Authorities continue to investigate the hit-and-run collision.
