One person was killed and another was injured after a police pursuit ended in a deadly crash in Anaheim early Friday morning, October 4, 2024.
According to Anaheim Police Sgt. Sutter, the pursuit began just after midnight when officers attempted to stop a white pickup truck. The driver fled the scene and led police onto the 91 Freeway.
The pursuit ended when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree in front of the Arbor Park apartment community on the 1200 block of State College Boulevard. The driver, who was trapped in the vehicle, was transported with minor injuries. A passenger in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, and southbound lanes on State College Boulevard were closed for several hours.
