[09-26-2024] Man Killed After Being Struck By Car While Pushing Disabled Vehicle on 7th Standard Road in BakersfieldA man is dead after being struck by a vehicle while pushing his disabled car on 7th Standard Road in Bakersfield on early Thursday morning, September 26, 2024.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the crash occurred at 12:05 a.m. in the 3200 block of 7th Standard Road, just west of Zachary Avenue. 

Officers arriving on the scene found the man lying in the roadway with major injuries. Authorities reported that the man was pushing his vehicle eastbound when another car hit him from behind. Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. 

The driver of the second vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Officials do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. 

The Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s identity at a later time. The investigation remains ongoing.
