A 28-year-old Loma Linda man was killed, and four other people sustained injuries in a fiery multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 10 in Redlands, San Bernardino County, on Thursday night, September 24, 2026.
According to the California Highway Patrol and Redlands Fire Department, the crash occurred shortly after 9:40 p.m. on the westbound I-10 near Mountain View Avenue.
First responders arrived to find one of the vehicles fully engulfed in flames. The driver, identified by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office as Hugo A., was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four occupants of two other vehicles involved in the collision suffered minor injuries. One of them was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Firefighters extinguished the vehicle fire while CHP closed all but one westbound lane for approximately three hours. The Loma Linda Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision.
