[09-23-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – 39-Year-Old Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 91 Freeway in Long Beach

A 39-year-old woman was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on the Artesia (91) Freeway in Long Beach on Wednesday night, September 23, 2026.

According to the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office, the crash occurred at around 10:20 p.m. on the eastbound 91 Freeway, just west of the Long Beach (710) Freeway.

The victim was identified as Maria P., of Gardena. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported one other person to a hospital.

A California Highway Patrol spokesperson said a person may have been in the middle of the roadway at the time of the collision and that two other vehicles may have been involved.

The incident remains under investigation.
