A woman was killed, and a man was seriously injured in a head-on collision involving their pickup truck and a big rig on Grocer Grade, Kern County, on Monday afternoon, September 23, 2024.
Few details have been released, but the crash was reported around 3:40 p.m. on Highway 33, just south of the brake check station at the top of the grade.
The pickup was traveling eastbound on the highway when one of the vehicles veered into the opposite lane, according to the CHP.
