A Tesla driver was injured after a wrong-way DUI driver crashed into their vehicle on the Bay Bridge in San Francisco on early Sunday morning, September 22, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, at around 2:02 a.m., officers received reports of a white Honda traveling the wrong way westbound on Interstate 80 near Treasure Island.
A few minutes later, the Honda collided with the Tesla at the Alameda/San Francisco county line, just east of the Main Tower.
The driver of the Tesla was taken to the hospital as a precaution, according to CHP. Meanwhile, the Honda driver sustained major injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
