[09-21-2026] Los Angeles County, CA – Waymo Vehicle Involved in Hit-and-Run Crash in Pico-Union

A Waymo autonomous vehicle carrying at least one passenger was struck by another vehicle in the Pico-Union area of Los Angeles early Monday morning, September 21, 2026.

According to a report from the scene, the collision occurred at around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Union Avenue.

The driver of the other vehicle did not stop after the collision as required. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel evaluated one person at the scene, but no one required transportation to a hospital.

The vehicle that struck the Waymo was later found abandoned about five blocks from the crash site, near Pico Boulevard and Alvarado Street.
