A 10-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a vehicle near Golden State Boulevard and Ventura in Fresno on Sunday, September 21, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a 23-year-old male driver was coming off the freeway.
The boy was crossing the roadway while playing in the area, which reportedly had around 10 children present. The driver attempted to avoid the child, but the boy was struck and transported to CRMC, where he was pronounced dead.
CHP confirmed that the driver is cooperating with authorities and that drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the crash. Authorities reminded the public not to play near freeway areas.
