[09-20-2025] 73-Year-Old Woman Killed in Collision While Crossing E Street and Third Street in San RafaelA 73-year-old woman, Patricia O. of Fairfax, was killed after being struck by a vehicle while crossing E Street and Third Street in downtown San Rafael on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

According to San Rafael police, the collision occurred around 2:00 p.m. when Patricia was using a crosswalk and was struck by a vehicle. She was transported by San Rafael Fire Department paramedics to MarinHealth Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The driver was not arrested, and it has not been determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.

The cause of death was blunt force head trauma, and the death has been ruled accidental by the county coroner’s office. Authorities continue to investigate the incident, including forensic analysis of the vehicle and reconstruction of the crash.
