[09-16-2025] Alameda County, CA – Three Injured in Hit-and-Run Near UC Berkeley in Berkeley

Three people were injured after being struck by a stolen BMW in a hit-and-run near the campus of UC Berkeley in Berkeley on Tuesday morning, September 16, 2025.

According to Berkeley Police, the incident was reported around 7:46 a.m. in the 2700 block of Belrose Avenue.

Officers said the driver struck multiple pedestrians, including a man walking a dog, a man on a bicycle, and a woman who was jogging. All three sustained injuries.

The BMW was abandoned near Emerson Elementary School in the 2800 block of Garber Street after the driver attempted two carjackings. Police later arrested the adult male suspect in the 2800 block of College Avenue. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Richmond.

Authorities continue to investigate the chain of events across multiple locations, and no children were reported injured.
