A pedestrian was killed following a hit-and-run crash involving a red sedan in Lancaster on Monday night, September 9, 2024.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Third Street East and Avenue I.
Deputies arrived to find the pedestrian suffering from severe injuries. Witnesses reported that a red four-door sedan struck the pedestrian and fled the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was traveling west on Avenue I when it hit the pedestrian, who was walking north in the marked crosswalk. It is unclear whether the driver or the pedestrian had the right of way and whether alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
