A 61-year-old woman was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Baltimore Drive outside a marked crosswalk in La Mesa on Monday night, September 8, 2025.
According to the La Mesa Police Department, the incident occurred around 9:49 p.m. in the 5600 block of Baltimore Drive.
Officers arrived to find the pedestrian unresponsive and lying in the roadway. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
Authorities reported that the woman was crossing from east to west outside of a marked crosswalk when the collision occurred. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Driving under the influence is not believed to be a factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
