At least one person died after being trapped inside a burning vehicle on Interstate 80 in Hercules early Saturday morning, September 7, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on the westbound Hercules off-ramp of I-80.
Authorities stated that a fire was first reported at approximately 2:40 a.m., with reports of occupants trapped inside the vehicle. An ambulance was requested at 2:43 a.m., followed by a coroner at 3:42 a.m.
