A man in his 60s was killed after being struck by an alleged intoxicated driver in Tahoe City, Placer County, on Friday morning, September 5, 2025.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred just before 11:30 a.m. on Highway 28 near Rocky Ridge Road.
The victim, a Kings Beach resident, was walking on the right-hand shoulder when a Tahoe City resident driving eastbound allegedly struck him. The Truckee Fire Department pronounced the man dead at the scene.
CHP confirmed that the female driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, and drugs or alcohol were reported to be a factor in the collision.
The incident remains under investigation by the CHP Truckee office.
