[09-04-2026] Riverside County, CA – Two Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash in Lake Elsinore

Two people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash that damaged a power pole in Lake Elsinore on Friday morning, September 4, 2026.

According to the California Highway Patrol and Riverside County Fire Department, the collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. on Grand Avenue near Richard Lane.

CHP reported that one of the vehicles subsequently struck a Southern California Edison power pole. The impact broke the pole at its base and caused electrical lines to fall across Grand Avenue.

Two occupants of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and were transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment. Their identities were not released.

Authorities said the driver of the vehicle that struck the power pole reportedly fled the scene on foot. CHP officers and sheriff’s deputies searched for the driver and closed Grand Avenue in both directions for public safety.

The investigation remains ongoing.
