A woman was killed, and three others were injured after a two-vehicle DUI crash in the Olivehurst area of Yuba County on Monday morning, September 2, 2024.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred around 5:29 a.m. on westbound Highway 70 near the off-ramp for McGowan Parkway.
A Buick, driven by 24-year-old Alannah E., was traveling the wrong way when it crashed head-on with a Toyota SUV. The 47-year-old woman driving the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the Toyota and another in the Buick sustained major injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.
The 24-year-old was determined to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI causing injury. She was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
The crash remains under police investigation.
