A 70-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 58 east of Mill Street in Tehachapi on Saturday morning, August 30, 2025.
According to the Kern County Coroner’s Office, the victim was identified as Richard Z. of Bellevue, Nebraska. Richard was struck while walking as a pedestrian around 1:38 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Authorities have not released additional details regarding the driver or vehicle involved.
